LAEF’s summer programs serve over 1,000 kids

The Summer Enrichment Institute ended on Friday, July 22, but everything students have learned and experienced will last a lifetime.
The Los Alamitos Education Foundation (LAEF) has provided 94 classes this summer to students in grades K-12. Over 600 students took one or more SEI classes and learned more about reading, writing, math, theater, art, science, technology, physical fitness and much more.

Small class sizes (maximum 17 students), which are taught by credentialed teachers and highly qualified instructors in two-hour blocks, provided the ideal educational environment for students to continue to learn over the summer.
LAEF also teamed up again with Los Alamitos High School’s coaches and directors to offer multiple successful camps this summer.
Several camps will take place later this summer, but so far over 1,000 students are participating in show choir, band, dance, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, tennis, track and field, baseball, basketball, softball, water polo and wrestling camps on campus at Los Alamitos USD schools.
LAEF is the non-profit partner of Los Alamitos Unified School District.  LAEF enhances educational excellence by providing after-school and summer enrichment programs to children in grades Pre-K to 12.
