Yalla Mediterranean brings together the best flavors of Greece, Turkey, Morocco, Lebanon, Israel, and Syria among other countries from the region, and serves them in a healthy, delicious fashion.
“A group of us with passion for flavors of that part of the world got this started,” said Dave Wolfgram, who’s President and CEO of Yalla Mediterranean.
Translated to “let’s go” from Greek, Yalla is motivated by Wolfgram and his team’s vision of providing quick, nutritious, and tasty food in a family-friendly environment.
“I feel Yalla captures the fun spirit of the Eastern Mediterranean region,” said Wolfgram.
During a recent interview with Wolfgram, he recounted a moment at a Yalla restaurant in Dublin that exemplified the authenticity of the food.
“I got the chance to speak with three Palestinian women who were waiting for their sister to arrive at the restaurant in Dublin,” said Wolfgram. “And they said they told their sister ‘they found a place that has food from home.’”
This really hit home to Wolfgram. He said that was a point where he knew this restaurant was doing things right.
With the newest of seven locations in Seal Beach not only is the food authentic, but it’s offered in a fast-casual setting that the surrounding communities can enjoy, said Wolfgram.
“We look for communities that appreciate healthy eating and we feel that Seal Beach will respond good to that,” said Wolfgram.
On the menu are a few recognizable items like Chicken Skewers or a Chicken Wrap but there are also a few items that may take some getting used to.
“People order something safe at first, realize the food is good and then they try something different,” said Wolfgram.
What’s different are plates like the Chicken Shawarma, which is delightful chicken plate seasoned in Lebanese spices, or Kefta Skewers, which is a delicious Turkish-spiced lamb skewer dish.
Whatever you’re craving, you can expect the ingredients to not only be fresh but also local. A chalkboard on display in the restaurant shows exactly where each ingredient comes from.
And if you have any kind of food allergy, don’t fear. Yalla has every ingredient used in the food mapped out on a convenient card to aid you in choosing a meal without the worry of what’s in it.
So head over to Yalla for some great tasting food with authenticity and quality in mind. You’ll never know what you’ll like.
