Rossmoor Community Services District Board has done away with bulky binders and reams of paper in favor of the Apple iPad. The District’s Paperless Agenda Program made its debut at the June 9 board meeting.
“The entire board is pleased with the transition from paper agendas to the iPad. The District’s Paperless Agenda Program is in line with our values and designation as a Tree City USA,” stated President Michael Maynard. “We are excited to be utilizing such a technologically advanced business tool and feel confident that it will be a valuable asset and significant cost savings to the district.”
“I am proud to be a part of a progressive district and a green community. This is an exemplary environmental message to be demonstrating for our children,” stated 1st Vice President Bill Kahlert.
Director Casey, Coletta and Rips echoed these sentiments. Director Casey remarked on how pleased he was with the Apple platform, the iPad’s intuitive interface and virtually virus free environment—a safe and reliable choice.
Board members and staff attended a June 6 iPad training workshop to prepare for the transition. At the conclusion of the workshop, directors and staff all reviewed and signed the district’s recently adopted paperless agenda policy. Consequently, the board was well prepared and familiar with the features of the iPad, as well as navigating the RCSD agenda on the device. In addition to being able to view the agenda, the board can now access the district website, policies, calendar and many other helpful business tools simultaneously. A district staff cost analysis report revealed that use of the iPad will result in an estimated annual cost savings of nearly $5,000.
