A Los Alamitos company has announced this week that it has manufactured key parts for NASA’s Atlas 5 rockets, a rocket launch system key to the nation’s defense.
The announcement underscores the key role the area still plays in the nation’s aerospace industry.
On Aug. 4, the United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket launched the Space Based Infrared System Geosynchronous Earth Orbit-6 (SBIRS GEO 6), the sixth and final flight of the SBIRS spacecraft constellation.
The U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC) mission will send new satellites to join the SBIRS constellation, which works to detect missiles and early warning satellites for the United States and our allies.
Arrowhead Products manufactures the Engine Feedlines for the Atlas V rocket, which fuel the engines, supporting nearly 860,000 pounds of thrust. Through this work, Arrowhead Products supports Department of Defense (DoD) and Space Force missions to protect U.S. National Security.

Atlas V successfully launched the first five SBIRS GEO satellites between 2011 and 2021. Atlas V delivers the most sensitive and critical missions – including planetary exploration missions, classified defense systems and key commercial assets.
