KC Blood Drive August 6

By Irv Cuevas

The Knights of Columbus Council 8599 of St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Cypress wants you to be part of its annual lifesaving cause.

In coordination with the American Red Cross, the public is encouraged to donate blood Thursday August 6 at the St. Irenaeus Church Hall between 1pm and 7pm.

St. Irenaeus is located at 5201 Evergreen Ave. between Lincoln Blvd. and Orange Ave.
For more information or to make an appointment to donate, go to redcrossblood.org, and use the sponsor code SICC, or call (800)-RED CROSS (800-733-2767).

Cypress Knights of Columbus Grand Knight Richard Tkach said “hosting a blood drive coincides with the Council’s mission of giving back to the local community”. And Tkach added, “with a simple blood donation, we have the ability to help save the life of a loved one, neighbor or co-worker”.

According to the Red Cross, donors of all types are needed, especially those with types O negative, B negative, and A negative. The short amount of time it takes to donate can mean a lifetime to a patient with a serious medical condition.
