Joseph Isaiah Belo made a solid run with 12 home runs, but came up one short of Gerardo Mendoza’s home run derby winning 13, at the PONY Baseball Bronco World Series at Los Alamitos Youth Baseball.
Mendoza of Mexico set the bar high early, as Mexico was the second team to hit. Vacaville was the second to last team, and Belo made a strong run to 12 before grounding one through the infield for his 10th out. Tamiami Florida’s Rolando Leyva took third after a tiebreaker round with Puerto Rico’s Francisco Diaz.
