The Cypress High football team delivered an impressive performance for Homecoming. It posted a dominant 30-3 victory against Los Amigos on Friday, Sept. 13 at Western High in Anaheim.

Kennedy falls in close call, 13-7

The Kennedy High football team suffered a 13-7 loss to host El Modena in a non-league contest on Thursday, Sept. 12.

The Irish (1-2) owned a 7-0 lead at the halftime break. In the second quarter, quarterback Justin Minor scored a 6-yard touchdown.

Cypress High got off on the right track. The squad endured blazing temperatures to delivered a 28-14 victory against Lakeside, which hosted the non-league contest in Lake Elsinore.

For the Centurions (1-0, quarterback Nick Buras relied more on his legs than arm. He became the team’s top rusher by scrambling for 79 yards, though he also completed 8-of-17 passes for 109 yards.

Cypress tops El Modena for second victory

Cypress High went back and forward against El Modena as the lead exchanged hands twice in the first quarter. However, the Centurions took control before the end of the half and eventually posted a 47-21 victory on Thursday, Sept. 5.

Los Al shuts out Paramount, 27-0

The Los Alamitos High football team posted a shutout against Paramount in its season opener. The Griffins did the deed with a 27-0 victory on Friday, Sept. 6 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Long Beach.
