Newly elected Los Alamitos City Councilman, Dean Grose has created a bit of a stir on social media as he reportedly posted a comment on a Facebook page that was construed as an anti-Barack Obama administration remark about gun control.

The post reportedly appeared on Republican Tea Party Activist and Irvine Finance Commissioner Allan Bartlett’s Facebook page, where Grose reportedly posted a remark regarding gun control.

The post has since been removed by Grose, but read, “Uniting America against Obama’s regieme (sic) one AK47 at a time!”

Grose sent an e-mail to the News Enterprise in which he explained that the post was not intended as a remark against President Obama.

“My posting on a friend’s Facebook page was not advocating anything regarding our President, rather I was merely articulating my support for our Second Amendment rights in light of the national discussion on the issue,” Grose wrote.

Grose, who acknowledged writing the post said there had been little response to his post, but that he removed it because he thought the remark could be taken out of context.
