Los Al theatre students to perform in Sacramento

Three theatre students from Los Al High School have a performance set for March in Sacramento during the annual California Youth in Theatre Day.
Cambryelle Getter–senior, Connor Franzen–sophomore, and Zakk Hurt-sophomore will be performing a scene from their award-winning performance of Jim Leonard’s Anatomy of Gray. Stacy Castiglione, the student’s Theatre teacher, will accompany them.

Cambryelle Getter–senior, Connor Franzen–sophomore, and Zakk Hurt-sophomore will be performing a scene from their award-winning performance of Jim Leonard’s Anatomy of Gray. Stacy Castiglione, the student’s Theatre teacher, will accompany them.
On March 14, over three hundred Theatre students, theatre educators, friends and administrators from many schools in California will gather at the state capitol to have breakfast with legislators and legislative aides.
During the past twelve years over two thousand students and teachers have participated in this statewide event.
Prize-winning Theatre students are invited to perform at the Sacramento Theatre Company during the 20th Annual CYIT. After greeting legislators at the Capitol, the students perform, take workshops from the Department of Health, enjoy a Southern California ComedySportzLA match, listen to inspirational speakers, and receive certificates from CA Educational Theatre Association.  CETA awards each student and Theatre educator in attendance with certificates declaring Excellence in Theatre.
California State Thespian board, Drama Teachers Association of California, California Educational Theatre Association, southern region high school festival, Mid Stage Festival sponsor scholarship students.  Other organizations sponsoring students include Past President’s Council of CETA, English Speaking Union, New American Festivals, Mid Stage Festival, CETA South Festival, DTASC, CA Thespians.
Students will visit legislators during the day communicating how important the Arts are to young people. During the performance aspect of the day’s events, students perform songs, dances, monologues, duets, and scenes.
