Several area residents made strong showings at the Run Seal Beach 5 and 10 K event on Saturday in downtown Seal Beach.

Notable were two Seal Beach residents and a Rossmoor man who all finished in the top 26 overall in the 10K event. Lorenzo Tyner, 49, of Seal Beach was the 14th overall finisher in a time of 37:35. He was second in the age 45-49 division. Abel Flores, 29, of Seal Beach was the 19th overall finisher with a time of 39:16 and was fourth in the age 25-29 division.
Chris Komer of Rossmoor was the 26th overall finisher with a time of 40:03. He was fifth in the age 35-39 division.
Kathleen Phair, 54, of Seal Beach was the top local female finisher with a time of 40:33. She was first in the age 50-54 division. Pedro Mendoza, 22, of Cypress was third in the age 20-24 division with a time of 43:52, while Caroline Carpenter, 22, of Seal Beach was the top finisher in the age 20-24 division, with a time of 44:53.
Karen Frankenberg, 54, of Los Alamitos finished with a time of 45:25, putting her third in the age 50-54 division. Mikey Veyette, 16, of Seal Beach was the top finisher in the age 15-16 division, with a time of 45:52.
Taytum Sturges, 11, of Cypress was the top finisher in the age 11-12 division with a time of 55:04. Mary Mchenry, 16, of Rossmoor was the top finisher in the age 15-16 division with a time of 55:18. Thomas Padova, 13, and Victor Wicks, 12, both of Seal Beach, finished in the top three of their age divisions, with times of 51:31 and 51:41, respectively.
Other locals finishing in the top three in their divisions included: Margaret Hughes-husbands, 58, of Seal Beach (51:27); Bronson Tsarofaski, 13, of Seal Beach (58:27); Preston Ramirez, 8, of Seal Beach (59:45); Katie Mae Wilson, 18, of Cypress (1:00:38) Marie Palladini, 70, of Seal Beach (1:13:51) and Janet Schnyders, 78, of Seal Beach (1:41:18).
5K Run Event
Stephen Jamison of La Palma was the top local finisher in the 5K event, finishing fifth overall, with a time of 18:10. Jamison, 32, was second in the age 30-34 division. Rossmoor resident Dave Depew, 52, was eighth overall, with a time of 18:19 and was third in the age 50-54 division.
Cypress residents John Taylor, 41, and Jerry Reed, 48, were 16th and 17th, respectively, with Taylor taking second in his age division and Reed winning his. Taylor finished in 18:38, with Reed following at 18:39. Drew Sells, 43, of Rossmoor was 19th at 18:40 and took third in the 40-44 division.
Jordan Sickler, 14, of Seal Beach was 31st overall, with at time of 19:45 and took third in the 13-14 division. Harrison Smith, 13, of Los Alamitos was right behind him at 19:54. Stephen Howard, 29, of Cypress finished in 20:23 to take third in the 25-29 division. James Becker, 52, of Los Alamitos was 36th overall in 20:19. James Newman, 69, of Seal Beach, took first in the 65-69 division with a time of 20:31.
Three Rossmoor residents Paige Thompson, 12, Alice Higbee, 49 and Delaney Falsken, 14, all won their respective age division races. Thompson finished in 21:25, Higbee in 21:36 and Falsken in 21:41. Zachary Kollar, 11, of Seal Beach won the 11-12 division with a time of 21:42.
Nicholas Theriault, 9, of Seal Beach was second in the 10-under division with a time of 21:49. Meghann Anderson, 23, of Seal Beach was second in the age 20-24 division with at time of 22:05, while Landon Higbee, 9, of Rossmoor was third in the 10-under division with a time of 22:12.
Other local division winners included: Pamela Quinn, 70, of Seal Beach in 30:31; Ken Purucker, 76, of Seal Beach in 33:27 and John Harper, 80, of Seal Beach in 34:40.
Second place in their division included: Linda Krebs, 53, of Los Alamitos (24:05); Madison Thompson, 17, of Los Alamitos (25:35); Samantha Pangelinan, 16, of Los Alamitos (25:59) and Roy Benstead, 78, of Seal Beach (36:25).
Third place in their division included: Zachary De Boer, 17, of Seal Beach (20:53); Jacob Caesar, 11, of Seal Beach (22:20); Danna De Boer, 14, of Seal Beach (23:03); Irene Maul, 52, of Seal Beach (24:10); Bethany Remland, 39, of Seal Beach (24:12); Linda Natzmer, 5, of Seal Beach (26:50) and Diana Crane, 60, of Cypress (27:39).
