Youths impressed by Cavalia

The Youth Center in Los Alamitos recently took participants on a trip to Cavalia’s Odysseo show. “I do not really know what else to say but WOW,” said Elise Chalfant, one of the 20 participants who went on this fun trip. “The show started … it was spectacular!”

“It really is a must see,” said The Youth Center Executive Director, Lina Lumme. “The bond between horse and owner is amazing.  Everyone who went on a trip with us was in awe the whole time!”

The internationally acclaimed Cavalia pushes the limits of live entertainment with its newest production that is now touring the globe. Odysseo is a theatrical experience, an ode to horse and man that marries the equestrian arts with awe inspiring acrobatics and high-tech theatrical effects. Set under a 38-meter tall white big top, audiences are transported around the world as more than 50 horses and international cast demonstrate their intimate bond. The 1,393 square meter stage features a real carousel and a magically appearing 302,000-litre lake in front of a stunning video backdrop (which is the size of three IMAX screens). Odysseo is a two-hour dream that moves the heart and touches the soul. It is an evening the audience will never forget.

Los Alamitos is most fortunate to have The Youth Center providing games, sports, and many educational activities for the children in the summer and after school hours. It is known as a general place for children to hang out and meet their friends. There are music programs, summer camps, fieldtrips, and a free After School Program with tutoring also and more offered. Registrations for summer camps, music and Kids Night Out are now open. Please call Lisa Lee or Lina Lumme for more information at 562-493-4043 or visit them online at TheYouthCenter.org. The Youth Center is located at 10909 Oak Street in Los Alamitos.
