School is finally out and the long awaited summer begins. The Youth Center is making it a real party this year complete with a DJ opening the first day of summer camp on June 17 at Rossmoor Park. Kids (ages 5 to 12) can enjoy The Youth Center’s Rossmoor Park Summer Camp, which is promised to be packed with music, games, prizes and more.
For the first time this year, the Youth Center is also offering affordable music classes during summer camp. Campers can learn to play violin, saxophone, electric bass, keyboard, or the flute, just to name a few. For only $99, each camper can enjoy 6 weeks of classes, instrument included.
As the most reasonably priced camp in the area, the Youth Center is able to make the party available to all with scholarships to those in need. Income is not an issue when you make the choice to party with the Youth Center this summer. No child is ever turned away due to an inability to pay. Don’t miss out on this incredible summer party that everyone will be talking about.
Busy working or not, many parents are all too familiar with searching for summer activities for their kids that are interesting, enjoyable, build self-esteem and introduce new friendships. The Youth Center’s Rossmoor Park Summer Camp is the perfect solution. This summer party will keep your kids busy, while positively impacting their personal and social development.
The Youth Center’s Rossmoor Park Summer Day Camp includes arts and crafts, board games, organized sports, carom boards, playground time, sandcastle contests, reptile parties, magic shows, Wet & Wild Fridays, wheels days, talent shows, cake & toy walks, watermelon contests, potluck days and more.
“We’ve finally found the perfect combination of activities, parties, sports and entertainment for ten whole summer weeks to assure every day is over-the-top and a real party for the kids,” said The Youth Center’s Office Manager, Julie Rubin. “Our diverse, affordable program combines the structure of recreational day camp with the excitement and adventure of enriching field trips, multi-cultural games, swimming, special events and more. Not only will your child have fun, but they will be constantly learning, too”
If the Youth Center’s Summer Camp can be described in one word, it would be flexible! You can expect to add as many or as few field trips as you like. This summer, campers have an opportunity to go to Sky High, Boomers, Ice-Skating, Roller Skating, Knott’s Berry Farm, L.A. Zoo, Medieval Times, an Angels’ Baseball Game, and more. Space is limited, so register early.
Choose from basic program hours or extend the fun even longer. Whether the kids are wrapped up in Blongo Ball, dancing the day away or slippin’ and slidin’ in the sun, they’ll be a part of the coolest party in town.
The Youth Center also offers a Teen Camp (ages 12 and up) where campers go on daily field trips and get to choose their activities. Sign up soon for Teen Camp as space is limited.
The Youth Center is an independent, non-profit organization serving the youth and families of Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, Seal Beach and surrounding communities since 1952. The Rossmoor Park Summer Day Camp is a collaboration between the Youth Center and the Rossmoor Community Services District.
“Without RCSD the Youth Center would not be able to provide top quality summer camp for local kids and offer scholarships to families in need,” said Youth Center Executive Director, Lina Lumme. “We are grateful to work with outstanding staff from RCSD every summer.”
