Rossmoor Woman’s Club present scholarships

The Rossmoor Woman’s Club honored Los Alamitos High School seniors Ava Faris and Giovanni Paduano as students of the month for November and December, respectively.
Ava Faris is a senior at Los Alamitos High School. At Los Al, she loves to get involved in as many activities as possible.

Ava is the varsity cross country captain and has participated in both track and cross country all four years. In addition, she is the president of California Scholarship Federation, a board member on the Growing Up STEM Club, and a member of Model United Nations and French Honor Society. In college, she hopes to study either criminal justice or economics with a minor in French.

Gio Paduano has been a member of the Los Alamitos Boys Volleyball program throughout his four years at Los Alamitos High School. He has been involved with ASB during the past two years serving as Junior Class President, and currently as the Spirit Commissioner. He has also been a member of CSF and the National and Spanish Honor Societies.

Academically, Gio has maintained a cumulative 4.5 GPA. Outside of school he has been involved with the National League of Young Men, providing volunteer hours to organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House and Heart of the City. Gio hopes to attend a university within the UC or CSU system where he plans to major in Business Administration.
Each student received a certificate and $600 scholarship award from the Rossmoor Woman’s Club.
