It was wall-to-wall legislators, candidates and area business representatives at the West Orange County Legislative Mixer on Aug. 17 at the Joint Forces Training Base.

The event was a combined effort of six area Chambers of Commerce; Buena Park, Cypress, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach and Stanton. While not a campaign event, some of the legislators did address the crowd of about 200, as they socialized over drinks and appetizers.

Orange County Supervisor John Moorlach spoke of the need for area businesses and residents to be proactive now in having their opinions heard on the 405 freeway expansion. U.S. Representative Ed Royce praised local businesses and said that what our country needs in Washington D.C., are more people with a background in business.

Gary DeLong, a candidate for the newly created 47th Congressional seat, added to the importance of small businesses and the organization of their interests.

“Thank you very much for continuing to support the chambers in our area,” DeLong said.
