Mental Health workshops available to LAUSD parents

LAUSD and partners offering mental health workshops to parents.

As SoCal communities begin to ease out of this year-long Covid exile, groups associated with the Los Alamitos Unified School District have begun to offer mental health workshops to parents and teachers.

In her President’s Report during the most recent meeting, Los Al Unified Board President Marlys Davidson shared four “upcoming opportunities in the area of parent education and mental health.”

“Navigating the world, as we raise our children, keep them safe and help them become productive and successful, could be the most challenging job we could ever face,” said Davidson. “We need each other, and over the past year, most of us have come to realize how deeply we value community,” she said.

“Our district has always worked to bring opportunities for guidance, education, collaboration and support, safe, healthy engaging world for our students to all of our families and staff,” the board president said.

Therefore, she announced, the district, in collaboration with several community organizations, is presenting four pandemic related mental health workshops.

Davidson announced the district were presenting the workshops “in partnership with Children’s Hospital of Orange County, the Greater Anaheim SELPA, and the Orange County Department of Education Crisis Response Network.” She said the workshops are open to all families within the district.

Here are the workshops. (Note: Registration will only be offered to the first 300 registrants. Zoom links will be provided upon registration for the virtual workshops).
