The Los Alamitos Area Chamber of Commerce has announced former Los Alamitos mayor Troy Edgar will be the guest speaker for its March Virtual Networking Meeting on Thursday, March 25.
Nesi Stewart, Chairwoman, said the virtual meeting will begin at 8 a.m. an there is no cost to attend. She said Edgar will provider Chamber members with a debrief from the former Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as its Chief Financial Officer.
She said Edgar will provide his thoughts and take questions about his time as Chief Financial Officer and Associate Deputy Under Secretary of Management at DHS.
Appointed by President Trump in March 2019, Edgar served through January 20, 2021, the Chamber said he will briefly discuss these topics;
• Overview of DHS
• Senate Confirmation Process
• Role of the CFO and working with career staff, DHS Secretary and leadership, the White House and Congress
• Topics of Interest: Border Crisis, Portland, Wall Construction, COVID-19, Coast Guard Readiness, Presidential Transition
