With an exciting win Monday, Los Alamitos Varsity Griffin Girls’ Tennis beat Newport Harbor for the second time this year earning an unprecedented undefeated season. Earlier in the season, both J.V. and Varsity girls beat Newport Harbor for the first time in 14 years for Varsity and 16 years for the J.V. Team. Varsity ends regular season in first place with a perfect 10 – 0 season record.
Newport Harbor barely edged out the J.V. Girls winning 10 games to the J.V. Griffins 8 wins. The two J.V. teams are tied 9 -1 with each team’s only loss was against each other. Los Al won 10 – 8 in the season’s first match-up, and Newport reversing that at Monday’s match.
Varsity and J.V. compete in league finals starting Wednesday.
