Healthcare workers being fed, restaurants receiving support

The Taste of Los Al crew continues to support restaurants by feeding area healthcare workers and first responders.

The campaign, organized by The Taste for Los Al, buys large orders of food from local restaurants and delivers it to local frontline healthcare workers has passed the 2,000 meals served mark this week, according to spokesman Larry Strawther.

“It’s a win-win for both the restaurants and the healthcare workers whose food choices have been very limited during the emergency,” he said.

So far, The Taste has been spending nearly $1000 per day, buying meals for each of the two hospital shifts, he said.

Restaurants, include Angelina’s Famous Pizza, Baja Fresh, Chick Fil-A, Finbar’s, Flame Broiler, Brew Kitchen Ale House, Chick Fil-A, Crema Café, Hof’s Hut, Islands, Jersey Mike’s, Katella Deli, Lucille’s BBQ, Macaroni Grill, Mama’s, Paul’s Place, Santa Fe Importers, Sideyard Café, Thailusion, 320 Main, and Wahoo’s are among those participating in the campaign, he said.
