Elvia Galicia has been selected as the new Assistant Superintendent of Business Services for the Los Alamitos Unified School District. She will take over the role Jan. 6, succeeding Dr. Nancy Nien who had served in the position since 2017.
Galicia has over 23 years of exceptional service in school finance and has served as the District’s Director of Fiscal Services for the past five years. Last year, she was selected as the Los Alamitos Unified School District Administrator of the Year and the Orange County Administrator of the Year for Business Services.
“Her leadership inspires our administration and staff to set high expectations and create a culture of service, accountability and performance where we do the best we can with limited resources to meet the District’s goals,” said Superintendent Dr. Andrew Pulver in announcing Galicia’s selection.
Galicia received her Bachelor’s degree from California State Dominguez Hills in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a Chief Business Official Certification from Fiscal Crisis and Management Assistance Team (FCMAT).
