The Cypress High and Los Alamitos High baseball teams both reached the semifinals of the Loara Tournamment.

The two teams play on Thursday for a chance to reach the championship game on Saturday. Cypress defeated Long Beach Poly, 8-1 on Tuesday in their quarterfinal game, while the Griffins defeated San Clemente, 8-4 on Tuesday in their quarterfinal.

Cody Marshall drove in three runs with a triple in the second inning as the Griffins put up seven runs in the inning. Dallas Probert was 2 for 3 with a run and an RBI and James Stea had a triple, an RBI and scored a run. Darren McCaughan pitched four innings, with three stikeouts, to get the win.

Los Alamitos will play Canyon of Anaheim in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Cypress will play Fountain Valley in their semifinal at 3 p.m. Both games are at Glover Stadium, 1125 N. La Palma Pkwy. in Anaheim.
