Cypress home run derby this weekend

Swing for a reason this weekend. Cypress Recreation and Community Services will host a Homerun Derby on Friday, November 4 and a Charity Co-Ed Softball Tournament on Saturday, November 5 at Arnold/Cypress Park.
Proceeds will be given to Breast Cancer Angels, a local non-profit organization.  The mission of Breast Cancer Angels is to provide financial and emotional assistance for women and their families as they go through breast cancer treatment.  This event will also feature a toy and canned food collection benefitting Grateful Hearts.

The Homerun Derby begins Friday night at 6 p.m.  Registration will begin October 31 at the Cypress Community Center.  Same day registration will be taken at the field from 5 -5:45 p.m. There is a $10 fee (cash only) per participant.  The Derby is open to anyone 18 years or older and you must provide your own pitcher. Come out and watch these sluggers as they swing for a reason and hit some out of the park.
The Co-Ed Softball Tournament kicks off Saturday morning with games starting at 9  a.m.  Team entrance fee is $250 (cash only) and there is a twelve team maximum. The tournament will consist of pool play with a two-game guarantee, followed by single elimination.   Sign up at the Cypress Community Center October 3 – 21.
