The Cypress School District Board of Trustees recently announced its new staff for the 2013/14 school year.
The Cypress School District Board of Trustees recently announced its new staff for the 2013/14 school year.
Tandy Taylor was appointed to the position of Director, Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for the 2013/14 school year. Taylor served in the West Covina Unified School District for the last six years as Director, K-12 Instructional Programs. She has also served as a principal and Instructional Support Specialist, holding jobs in education since 1994. She received her Master of Arts, Curriculum and Instruction, from Azusa Pacific University.
Principal changes were also announced:
- Dr. Rena Gibbs will serve as principal at Landell School. She comes to the District from the Centralia School District.
- Lori Hernandez was appointed principal at Morris School and comes to the District from the Magnolia School District.
- Helen Chung-Lu will serve as principal at Vessels School. She formerly served in the Orange Unified School District.
In addition, congratulations to the following employees who received promotion to new positions:
- Jodi Novy was promoted to the position of Director, Special Education/Student Services. Novy has served Cypress School District students since 2002, most recently as Coordinator, Special Education. She is an extremely skilled and respected educator with a passion for student success.
- Julie Gautreau was named Coordinator, Instructional Technology/Special Projects. Gautreau has served in Cypress School District since 1992, most recently as the District’s Technology Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) and has been an integral part of the team supporting the District’s technology goals for both students and staff.
David Jimenez was named to fill the position of Fiscal Services Coordinator. Jimenez was served in several capacities in the Business Services Department since 2000 and will continue to be an asset to the District.
