Collecting toys for Military kids

Love and giving is what St. Hedwig School demonstrated this past Holiday season.
Last month, St. Hedwig students and their families donated 18 boxes of brand new toys, books and more for local military children. Also in doing so, the school hopes to pay tribute to the military men and women who’ve served and those who still serve our country.

This past year’s charity toy drive is the second year for Hedwig’s service project, which is led by sixth grade teachers Jim Belisle in collaboration with the Military Children’s Charity, Inc.  In addition to the numerous items that have already been gathered, the Student Council helped generate money to supplement for the purchase of more toys by selling candy cane at school.
Isaiah Navarro, Founder and Board Director of the Military Children’s Charity, Inc. came to give a speech to the school body during the morning assembly on Dec. 15.
His recent noble efforts and accomplishments at a young age have inspired the students to do something really meaningful in the future.
