Megan Brines, a 2018 Los Al Grad and Rossmoor resident, recently conducted a fundraiser to benefit the Pediatric Neurology Department at CHOC. She raised and presented Dr. Michael Muhonen and his team $5000 to go towards their program. Megan was a brain surgery patient of Dr. Muhonen’s in 2002, after cysts were found in her brain and were causing seizures, loss of consciousness and convulsions. Megan wanted to give back to his program to thank him for all he has done for her. She will be attending Grand Canyon University this fall, studying Social Work with a career goal of working with deaf and/or autistic children.
