Eight Bigbelly trash bins were recently installed throughout Los Alamitos. Republic Services provided three of the units and the other five were bought through funds produced by the Integrated Waste Management Act.

• Solar Powered: Every Bigbelly and Smartbelly receptacle is connected to Cloud-based monitoring and control system via wireless data communication

• Solar Powered: Every Bigbelly and Smartbelly receptacle is connected to Cloud-based monitoring and control system via wireless data communication
• Self-Compacting: Bigbelly units have internal sensors that monitor fullness and self-compact as needed, resulting in five times the capacity of comparable cans
• Smart Device: Each unit contains software that wirelessly transmits when the cans are ready to be emptied or in need of service
• Accountable: Using a Smart-Grid system, Bigbelly’s CLEAN Software provides reporting and analytics, for routing, asset deployment and tracking purposes
• Durable: Keeping trash inside the receptacle where it belongs
• Attractive: Optional Ad Panels allow the city to promote community messages, upcoming events, or even corporate sponsorship.
