Maybe Trump and law enforcement should use chalk

Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

The front-page article about the Black Lives Matter protest mentioned that several storefronts along Main Street had been boarded up as shopkeepers were uncertain what to expect. Are you kidding me? All shopkeepers had to do was turn on the news to see what Black Lives Matter was doing in other cities. Even when mayors of these cities kowtow to the Black Lives Matter Marxists, they go after the mayors’ homes. No wonder some shopkeepers decided it would be best to board up their stores rather than possibly watch them destroyed.

The reason why public support for Black Lives Matter is going down is because of the violence AND the fear of violence. If your newspaper had announced a big Trump rally, shopkeepers would never had boarded up their stores. If there was an announcement about a big rally in support of law enforcement, shopkeepers would never have boarded up. When most Americans hear “Black Lives Matter” they equate that with burning, looting and murdering.

I am all for PEACEFUL rallies or protests. Rally for something or protest something, that’s the American way. But when your protest or rally is over leave, the area the same way you found it. Is that asking too much? It is disgraceful how the Seal Beach Black Lives Matter has DEFACED the area at the foot of the Seal Beach Pier! It’s chalk that will eventually wash off, but DEFACING the area is not going to win any supporters. I hope the pro-law enforcement, pro-Trump group that comes every week brings chalk and writes their own slogans. If Black Lives Matter can write their slogans on Seal Beach sidewalks, Trump and law enforcement supporters should write their own slogans too.
