The sixth annual fundraiser, hosted by Keller Williams Realty Los Alamitos, was standing room only as the faux The Voice competition began.

Vocalists from the community and local area Keller Williams Realty offices took turns singing their hearts out trying to raise the most cash to help KW Cares a non-profit charity. The singing competition raised $1,600 dollars for KW Cares.

Ronald Shore, the team leader at KW Coastal Properties in Long Beach, was the top singer in the judge’s vote with his version of “Sara Lee” by The Evens. Shore was a repeat winner having won last year’s competition with his version of “That’s Life” by Frank Sinatra. Theodore Kelsick, also of KW Coastal Properties, raised the most money with his version of Bob Marley and the Wailers song “Redemption.”

Agents played judges Shakira (Nivia Licardie, KW Los Alamitos), Blake Shelton (Brian Genovese, KW Los Alamitos) and Christina Aguilera (Angie Simpson, KW Coastal Properties). Simpson’s Aguilera team raised the most money by team to win the judge’s competition.

This was the first year for The Voice of…KW competition which replaced the highly popular KW Idol event that has been entertaining the local community for the past 7 years.

“We had a fantastic turnout again,” said Drake Cruz, event coordinator. “I couldn’t believe how crowded the restaurant was, all I could see was people everywhere. The support from the local community and the area’s Keller Williams offices made this event a success once again.”

“Keller Williams Realty likes to be involved with the local community and work with charitable projects,” said Cruz. “The Voice of…KW is just another way to raise funds to help in the local community.”

“I am so glad the community showed up and supported the agents singing on stage,” added Cruz. “It’s a great cause and a great way for families to hang together and have a good time.”

Keller Williams Realty Los Alamitos has been active in helping out the local community in a variety of ways. Besides the yearly shredding event, they also collect food for Second Harvest Food Bank and items for Toys for Tots to name a few.
