With military families often relocating throughout the year, and operating on a tight budget, the holiday season can be a time of uncertainty for the families that keep our nation safe.
Raytheon Intelligence & Space is proud to partner with Operation Homefront this holiday season to provide meals, toys and gift cards to active-duty military service members and their families across Southern California, North Texas, Colorado and Washington D.C., said Michelle Styczynski-Hamblin, Vice President, F-15 Radar Programs, Raytheon Intelligence & Space.

She said Raytheon Intelligence & Space and Operation Homefront came together last week to distribute gift cards, toys and other holiday essentials to 64 local military families in need.

Through its partnership with Operation Homefront’s Holiday Meals for Military Families program, RI&S hosted a gift card and toy drive to support military families in need.
The local event was held at the American Legion Post 718 in Los Alamitos, she noted.
During the event, RI&S volunteers packed gift cards, toys and other goods into the cars of local families. In tandem with these local events, Raytheon is hosting a nation-wide donation campaign to raise additional funds for the U.S. military community.

According to Styczynski-Hamblin, Raytheon’s holiday food drives and corresponding donation campaign raised nearly $75,000 last year – and the team is on track to exceed that number in 2021.

“For many Americans, the holidays are about coming together, sharing a special meal, and making memories. However, our military families are often far from their loved ones and, with tight budgets, are unable to gather for the holidays,” she said.

On December 2, RI&S volunteers helped provide 64 military families in Southern California with healthy holiday meals and toys.

Community members are invited to join RI&S in supporting local service members and their families by volunteering with their local Operation Homefront Reserve Corp and making in-kind or monetary donations.
