From its humble beginnings in Los Alamitos years ago as a local photography show, the annual event know as Weekend of Art has expanded into a two-day exhibition that includes a multiple of mediums from canvas art to crafts, from textiles to glass art, leather works and photography. And blended into the mix, a continuous parade of performance art to give the exhibition a beat. Today it is the city’s signature arts event attracting over 200 artists competing in 12 categories of judged competition. Los Al TV’s John Underwood was there this year to capture highlights of all the gallery and stage action, as well as interviews with several of the exhibiting artists themselves in attendance.
