Los Al declares Small Business Saturday

Los Al declares Small Business Saturday.

The city of Los Alamitos has proclaimed this Saturday, Nov. 30, as Small Business Saturday, which will be celebrated here and in most other communities around the country.

Mayor Warren Kusumoto and the council invited Dr. Avani Patel and John Osborn II onto the dias to honor Alamitos Eyecare as part of Small Business Week.

“We love Los Alamitos,” said Dr. Avani Patel, OD, FAAD, an owner of Alamitos Eyecare. “We have been here for twenty years and look forward to 20 more.”

For the 10th year, communities around the country honor their small businesses on the Saturday following the nation’s Thanksgiving holiday, said Kusumoto.

“In the holiday shopping tradition, after your Black Friday shopping, don’t forget about Small Business Saturday,” said the mayor, adding “we believe it’s going to be a great success in this community.”

Not only that, said Kusumoto, “I think small businesses are the cornerstone of the community and the glue that holds a community together. I say that because here in Los Alamitos, if you go out there you can find almost anything you need in this community.”

Kusumoto asked citizens to remember their local businesses this Saturday, especially as they start their holiday shopping. Remember to “spend local,” he said.
