A response to the Lowenthal discussion

A response to the Lowenthal discussion

Dear Editor,
In response to the ongoing discussion about Cong. Alan Lowenthal’s failure to support America’s peaceful transfer of power by not attending the inauguration of Donald Trump, it is becoming increasingly worrisome that the Democrat Party of Harry Truman and John Kennedy is morphing into a violent socialist party. Too many protest rallies now include cars or trash set on fire and vandalism to public and private property as well as assaulting people with opposing views.
Of course not all Democrats are vulgar and violent, but their silence supports what liberal anarchists are doing across the country.
As a former Democrat, I wonder why some Democrats are so angry that protests must include destroying property, assaulting people with opposing views or insulting America’s tradition of a peaceful transition of power on Inauguration Day. Perhaps Democrats are upset about being the minority party throughout most of the United States. Thankfully, Republicans now control the White House, the House of Representatives, the Senate, majority of state legislatures, majority of governor mansions and soon the Supreme Court. Republicans have not had this much power since the Civil War.
As California’s Democratic legislature works overtime on its liberal manifesto (such as protecting illegal criminals and approving sex-change operations for death row inmates), elsewhere in this great country there is a focus on:
· Creating a vibrant economy
· Supporting law enforcement
· Fixing our immigration system so illegal criminals are deported
· Having a vetting process for legal entry
· Providing our esteemed veterans with proper medical services
· Repairing our aging infrastructure
· Reducing the tax burden on the working- and middle-class
· Having the United States respected throughout the world
It would have been respectful if Cong. Lowenthal, who represents me in the 47th district, had supported America’s peaceful transfer of power. However, I doubt that the millions viewing the inauguration or those in attendance knew (or cared) that he was not there. Instead, their focus was on President Donald Trump and his plans to Make America Great Again.

Traffic, quality of life in Los Alamitos
Dear Editor,
There are so many “forces” causing a critical degradation of our traffic level of service. ?Goodbye “quality of life.” ?Hello gridlock, inefficiency, inconvenience to the max and increased stress. Also critical safety concerns, as emergency ambulance, police and fire department responses are impaired (gridlock after all effects everyone). I witnessed that this evening on eastbound Katella. And we are deliberately planning to worsen this congestion even more. ?Where is our plan to produce less traffic as requested by 85-100 percent of Los Alamitos residents’ responses in the “Katella and Los Alamitos Commercial Corridors Plan” where traffic was identified as their number one concern much more often than the number two concern? ?As a “community” we are purposefully doing this to ourselves! ?WHY?  Oh yeah, and what are we going to do about it?

A letter to Bill Thomas
Dear Bill,
I wanted to give you a warm thank you, for all the women that had the privilege to read your heartfelt words. Your story on the beginnings of Valentine’ Day was a fun reminder into past history that played a significant role today. Valentine’s Day isn’t just another day for profit, it truly is a special day we stop and think about all those we love so much. Without family, friends, coworkers, and of course those that we are closest to, our life would indeed be pretty dreary! Your wife is a very lucky lady to have your appreciation, respect and unconditional love. Happy Valentine’s Day to all!
