It was a record-setting year for St. Irenaeus Knights of Columbus Council 8599 in its long-running support of persons dealing with intellectual disabilities.

Final tabulations just released show the Knights’ 2026 Drive brought in nearly $8,700 including online donations. K of C Knights made collections following eight St. Irenaeus Masses the weekend of February 28-March 1.

Knights’ drive coordinator Rick Tkach said this record amount exceeds last year’s drive by more than $800. “This can be attributedm,” added Tkach, “to the overwhelming support of St. Irenaeus parishioners and the many donors.”

According to Tkach, “the amount collected goes to vetted organizations that support individuals with disabilities such as Special Olympics of Southern California.”

This was the Knights’ 15th annual Drive for individuals with disabilities. It’s estimated to have provided numerous services and support for thousands of people each year. On behalf of St. Irenaeus Knights of Columbus, Tkach extends sincere gratitude to all donors and volunteer workers.
