This holiday season, Casa Youth Shelter invites the community to support Casa Kids by sponsoring a child’s holiday wish list. Currently available at Casa Youth Shelter are gift tags that include the items requested by Casa Kids in their holiday wish lists. This year the nonprofit is also providing support to 50 kids in the extended Casa community who rely on them for continued counseling and support services.

This year Casa anticipates having a full house at the shelter during the Christmas holiday. With the support of dedicated community partners, Casa Kids will be able to spend the holiday season in an environment of safety, stability, hope, and love, surrounded by caring staff and volunteers who make sure they feel at home. Casa Youth Shelter invites locals to pick up holiday magic gift tags, grant a wish, and share the magic – the shelter is open 24/7 so gift tags can be picked up any time.
A sample holiday magic gift tag includes:

  • Youth name & age (real name will be changed to protect privacy)
  • Pajama & slipper sizes
  • Favorite color
  • 1 toy/activity request
  • 1 Big Wish List item
  • 1 gift card request
  • 1 gift set item request
  • In order to ensure Casa Kids and families receive their items in time for the holiday, the donation cut-off date for Holiday Magic Wish List items will be Wednesday, December 10th , 2025. To sponsor a Holiday Magic Wish List, or to learn more, please contact Jennifer Ramirez at jramirez@casayouthshelter.org or (562) 742-3954. Together, we can make this holiday season a time of healing and hope.
  • Founded in 1978 by Myldred E. Jones, Casa Youth Shelter serves and nurtures youth in crisis with shelter, counseling, and support services. The nonprofit focuses on empowering youth to move through their crisis with increased confidence, stability, and tools for continued growth. The organization’s vision is to create a community where all adolescents in crisis have a safe place to stay, in an environment that promotes personal growth and healthy relationships.
Thanks to Myldred’s vision, today Casa Youth Shelter thrives as a safe haven for a growing population of at-risk teens. Since opening April 7th, 1978, Casa Youth Shelter has never been closed, and continues to offer all services free of charge to any youth and family in need. Her inspiration lives on in the shelter’s countless volunteers, donors, and friends. Casa Youth Shelter is located at 10911 Reagan St, Los Alamitos, CA 90720.
