Great Pacific Airshow cancelled due to COVID-19

Great Pacific Airshow cancelled for 2020

Despite ferocious planning for the past year, the airshow director of the Great Pacific Airshow has announced that what is perhaps the country’s most famous airshow has been cancelled for 2020.

“After a year of planning to make The Great Pacific Airshow 2020 the most amazing yet, it is with a heavy heart that I must announce the cancellation of this year’s event scheduled for September 18-20,” said Kevin Elliott.

The show is generally held each year over the skies of nearby Huntington Beach.
“Our team has worked tirelessly to curate a spectacular family-friendly, patriotic weekend featuring the finest aviators in the world for your enjoyment. Recently, we have exhausted all possible contingent scenarios in consideration of the COVID-19 crisis,” Elliott conceded.

The Great Pacific airshow director thanked their federal, state, county and local partners for “helping us to leave no stone unturned as we searched for a way forward,” he said, adding that cancellation was “truly our last choice.

Even with cancellation, Elliott’s message made a forceful statement on the future of the event. “ The Great Pacific Airshow will take the skies over Huntington Beach next year, bigger and better than ever before.”

“On behalf of the entire Pacific Airshow team, THANK YOU to each and every one of you for your support of this amazing event. While we’re sad for 2020, we know the best is yet to come and our team will be working hard behind the scenes to make it happen,” said Elliott in his statement.
