Los Alamitos High School basketball player Eyassu Worku was recently named to the All CIF-Southern Section boys basketball team in the Open Division. Worku averaged 24 points a game in all competitions and led his team to a tough CIF State Division Two Regional semifinal against Long Beach Poly; the senior guard scored 16 points in his final game for the Griffins. Worku also led his team to a third straight Sunset League championship this year. Here, Worku is pictured in a game against Poway High school in the first round of the Regional tournament.
