The Cypress Chamber of Commerce will welcome Shannon DeLong, City Manager of the City of Cypress as our guest speaker at our July Networking Breakfast on July 14th at the Residence Inn by Marriott at 4931 Katella Avenue, Cypress/Los Alamitos, beginning at 7:30 a.m. At our breakfast event, Shannon will share her municipal background and discuss her ideas for continuing to make Cypress business-friendly and successful. She will also take questions as time permits.

Earlier this year Shannon was hired as City Manager for the City of Cypress and is the first woman and 10th City Manager in the City’s history. With more than 20 years of executive leadership experience, DeLong is known for her people-first approach to local government and dedication to building strong community relationships.

Prior to joining Cypress, she served as Assistant City Manager and Interim City Manager for the City of Whittier, where she helped oversee major initiatives including the establishment of the Whittier Navigation Center, expansion of the historic Central Library, remodel of the Uptown Senior Center, and improvements to parks and public facilities throughout Whittier.

Earlier in her career, DeLong advanced through several leadership positions with the City of Downey where she served as the Director of the Downey City Library, Interim Executive Director of the Columbia Memorial Space Center and led the City’s first Innovation Team. After college graduation, Shannon worked for The Aerospace Corporation, a Federally Funded Research and Development Center, and as an undergraduate she assisted in the Hubbell Lab in the UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute.

DeLong holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from UCLA and a Master of Business Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Beyond City Hall, she is also the proud mother of three children and values creating connected communities where families can thrive.

Each Chamber breakfast guest will also have an opportunity to stand to introduce themselves and share a little about their business before the program begins.

Reservations are highly recommended to secure your spot for the monthly breakfasts and can be made online. Cost of the breakfast is $25.00. Attendees are urged to also bring along a door prize to help promote their product or service.

The Chamber networking breakfasts, which are open to the public, are held on the second Tuesday of every month. Space will be limited. To assure your seat, pre-register on the chamber website: https://www.cypresschamber.org/events/details/2026-july-networking-breakfast-2819
