Camp Landell brings families together

Research indicates that activities designed to foster parent involvement and support for local schools are key factors in exemplary schools.  Landell Elementary School in the Cypress School District, has a long history of promoting family activities.  Because of the support of PTA volunteers and school staff, Landell School offers many programs that keep its children highly motivated and families bonded to the school.  Most recently “Camp Landell” provided a great opportunity for our families to stay off the roads over our Labor Day weekend and still enjoy quality family time together.  Almost one hundred families enjoyed an evening of music, dancing, and great food. The evening entertainment also included a movie and stargazing. Astronomers 4 You brought three telescopes for viewing a star cluster, a binary star system, and the biggest hit of all, the moon. The event concluded with a delicious breakfast prepared by volunteers from the Knights of Columbus.

Landell School is a California Distinguished School operating on a year-round calendar.  In addition to offering a quality education for children in kindergarten through 6th grades, they offer a Transitional Kindergarten Program on campus that is designed for students who turn five years old between November 2, 2012 and December 2, 2012.  For more information about the Cypress School District and Landell School, visit their website at www.cypsd.k12.ca.us.
