Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Anaheim-Cypress is hosting the annual Ace of Clubs Casino Night fundraiser on March 13 at the Ranch Saloon in Anaheim. Guests will enjoy casino gaming, hosted bar, delicious hors d’oeuvres, buffet dinner, auction and live music. Emmy award-winning AMS meteorologist and sportscaster Henry DiCarlo is the master of ceremonies.

This event will help provide free and low-cost afterschool and summer programs for at-risk children and teens in Anaheim, Cypress and surrounding communities. When schools were closed due to Covid, the Club provided all day learning centers so children of first responders and essential workers could attend school virtually while their parents went to work.

Each day, nearly 600 youth attend a Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Anaheim-Cypress program. Every child and teen in the eight Clubhouses and two Teen Centers has a mentor who helps them succeed in school, develop positive relationships and lead healthy lives. The Club offers a wide variety of academic support, hands-on STEM activities, art, music and sports. At the Club, young people make plans for their future and develop the skills needed to achieve their greatest potential. The Club is opening an additional seven locations in the next six months to help even more children and families in need.

The Club has a Family Resource Center at the Manzanita Park Clubhouse. The Family Resource Center team connects families from all of the Clubhouses with supportive services to ensure they have food, clothing, counseling, parenting workshops, and case management as needed.

The Ace of Clubs fundraising event is chaired by long-time Board member and Vice-President Chuck Emanuele. Board President Jon Peat and his wife Bonnie are the very generous presenting sponsors of the event. Additional sponsorships and Individual tickets are currently available with pricing ranging from $175 to $15,000. Capacity is limited and this event is likely to sell out quickly.

All children need a place to belong – in our community Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Anaheim-Cypress (BGCGAC) is that place. For nearly 50 years, BGCGAC has provided free and low-cost afterschool and summer program activities for school-age children and teens. If it was not for the Club, many children would be home alone. Instead, they can attend the Club and participate in activities that help them to succeed in school, adopt healthy lifestyles and demonstrate good character and civic engagement.

The Club provides children with a safe place to grow and learn, ongoing relationships with caring adult professionals, and life enhancing programs. The Club’s core program services include education, mentoring, college and career readiness, sports, music and arts instruction to youth of all ages. The Club also hosts a variety of family activity nights and partners with many youth and family organizations in the community.
