The LAYB Shetland All-Star team is going to the World Series in San Marcos.
The team got through District games undefeated scoring 65 runs and holding their opponents to only 19 runs. The Shetland All-Stars have impressed their competitors with consistent fielding, hitting and a tough demeanor that allows them to stay in the game no matter what happens. In the final game at Districts, the All Starts held their composure after East Long Beach came out with an 8-2 lead after the second inning.
Los Alamitos blanked them for three innings and came back in the 5th with a game-tying home run by Sean Kassawara, and then won it in the 6th with a homer by Easton Shortle to drive in the winning runs for a 10-9 victory.
