Random fun at Cypress Festival

It’s one thing to perform on-stage at an elementary school talent show. It’s quite another to transform it into a musical career. But that’s exactly how Random came to be. A pair of remarkable youngsters at Rossmoor Elementary School came together in 2011 – Jack Levin (vocals) and Elijah Vann (drums) playing Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” at the Rossmoor Variety Show. Since their debut, they’ve added Maximilian Guardi (guitar), Lexi Luyben (vocals), and Katherine Roberts (keyboards).

Jack, Elijah, and Maximilian are all 10 years old, while Lexi and Katherine are 12 years old. Even though they now attend three different schools, they still come together to bring down the house with their amazing performances.

Over the past year, Random has shown what they’re made of at the Rossmoor Elementary School carnival, Autumnfest at St. Hedwig Parish in Los Alamitos, Kobe Steakhouse in Seal Beach and the Ma and Pa’s Block Party in East Long Beach. Now, these incredible kids are going to rock out the upcoming 2013 Cypress Community Festival.

The Cypress Community Festival is the largest one-day festival in Orange County and features crowd-pleasing attractions such as the classic car show, chili cook-off, live entertainment on four stages, roving clowns, Kiwanis pancake breakfast, 5k/10k run and much more. The 2013 Cypress Community Festival will be held Saturday, July 27, at Oak Knoll Park in Cypress.
