The Cypress Art League welcomed back Jack King, art professor, artist and art historian to its January general meeting. This was Mr. King’s 27th annual lecture to welcome the New Year with a focus on a unique historical artist.
This year it was an intimate study of the Danish artist Villhelm Hammershoi, and his devotion to soft subtle light, and precise composition of personal interior rooms and landscapes of early 1900 Denmark.The Cypress Art League is devoted to inspiring local artists and serving the vibrant art communities in the city of Cypress and the surrounding cities as well.
The Cypress Art League meets at the Cypress Community Center at 5700 Orange Avenue, at 2:00 p.m. the third Sunday of every other month, January 18, March 15, and May 17 with a Juried Open Show take-in April 25 and the Show open to the public on April 26.
