Since 2010, Los Alamitos High School have chosen not one, but ten valedictorians to represent the “cream of the crop” and the top of the student body. These ten students are given the highest honors for their academic achievements, excellence, and perseverance all throughout high school.
Ashley Sarquiz- Ashley will be attending UCLA, intending to major in Biology. Her favorite pick-up line is, “I wish I was sine squared and you were cosine squared, so together we would be one.”
Jon Kim- Jon will be attending UC Berkeley in the fall. His favorite memory of Los Al is meeting all of his best friends that he knows will stay his best friends through college.
Megan Carpenter- Megan will be attending UC Berkeley. The person she would want to be for a day is her twin sister Annie, because she has a really cool twin.
Michelle Leon- Michelle will be attending UC Berkeley, double-majoring in neurobiology and economics. When asked to describe her perfect date, she picked April 25th because it’s not too hot, not too cold – all you need is a light jacket.
Ashley Grant- Ashley will be attending USC, with hopes of majoring in something within the film department. She has a secret talent of wiggling her ears.
Justin Khalil- Justin is attending Cornell University and majoring in Chemical Engineering. His most embarrassing moment is when he was projectile vomiting outside of his AP Biology class after consuming an excessive amount of donuts.
Lindsay Martin- Lindsay will be attending Harvard University in the fall with a major in Government and a Minor in East Asian Studies. If she had a superpower, she wishes that she could understand and speak all languages automatically, that way, she can talk to everyone all over the world.
Garrett Celestin- Garrett will be attending Stanford University as an undeclared major, but is considering a major in Environmental Science or International Relations. His secret celebrity crush is Gwyneth Paltrow because she is an amazing actress/singer, is married to his favorite singer Chris Martin from Coldplay, and has a daughter named Apple.
PJ Wynne- PJ is attending Notre Dame, majoring in Political Science. A quote that he relates to is, “A life lived with integrity – even if it lacks the trappings of fame and fortune is a shining star in whose light others may follow in the years to come.”
Terresa Eun- Terresa will be attending Harvard University, entering as an Undeclared major but hoping to major in Pre-Med, Romance Languages, or Psychology. In ten years, she sees herself married and doing her residency after completing medical school.
