Blake Shelton, Shakira and Christina Aguilera…well… faux versions of the singer/judges will be making a special appearance at Mr. B’s Sports Lounge and Restaurant on Tuesday Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m. for The Voice of…KW.
It’s suggested that people get there early as the event has been standing room only in the previous years. There is a $20 donation for contestants to enter the competition and there is a limit of 15 performers.
Although the competition is between the local area Keller Williams Realty market centers, agents at other real estate offices and members of the local community are encouraged to enter and sing.
Anyone interested in getting on stage should call Drake Cruz, the coordinator of the annual event, to see if any spots are open. He can be reached at 562-884-9016.
The Voice of…KW is a fundraiser for KW Cares and is replacing the highly popular KW Idol event that has been entertaining the local community for the past 7 years. KW Cares is the office’s non-profit and recently helped with grants for Los Alamitos youth Kai Quinonez, who is fighting a rare blood disease.
“We thought that we needed to change it up a little,” said Cruz. “We had tremendous success with KW Idol but The Voice has some new things that looked fun to do.”
“KW Coastal Properties in Long Beach lost their crown as top office to KW Los Alamitos and we are raring to keep it,” continued Cruz. “We have won it every year but one and are proud to represent the community of Los Alamitos.”
“We barely missed repeating as champions last year,” said Angie Simpson, an agent at KW Coastal Properties. “But we are ready to bring on the vocals and recapture the title.”
Last year’s top singer was Ronald Shore from KW Coastal properties and the top money maker was Los Alamitos youth Alexis Luyben.
“In reality, the winner is KW Cares, our non-profit charity,” said Cruz. “The money raised goes back to help in the community and that is why we appreciate the support from the other real estate offices and our local community.”
“Keller Williams Realty likes to be involved with the local community and work with charitable projects,” said Cruz. “KW Idol is just another way to raise funds to help in the local community.”
“I hope the community will show up and support the agents singing on stage,” added Cruz. “It’s a great cause and a great way for families to hang together and have a good time.”
