Seal Beach Crafts Fair is next weekend

The Annual Seal Beach Arts & Crafts Faire, which has been taken over by the Seal Beach Lions will occur this year on Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sept. 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Eisenhower Park.
What many Seal Beachers may not know is that this event, started by business person Belinda of the former “Art on Glass,” has been one of the early launch shows of the arts & crafts show season for decades.  She and a group of volunteers had run this event for some time, but due to her move away and other issues, she has to transfer it.

This year, the show is already full.  There is even a waiting list for vendors who may cancel, and we need to fill their spaces.  Vice chair and Artist Liaison, Maria De La Cueva said, “I am so proud and humbled to be working with such a great team of Lions who I know will make this an extraordinary experience for the artists.” She continued, “we have added thanks to the City of Seal Beach for their participation in creating and managing a kids chalk art segment, maintained our other non-profit relationships, juried all entries and coordinated the business licenses for our artists.”
Scott Newton, a committee member who has helped shepherd this transition from last year also, feels strongly, “We want to make this year a WOW for the artists and the community.  We hope this event, which already has received the ‘Best of Seal Beach’ Gold for Best Cultural Event even better and more collaborative.” To do that, we need to show these artists visitors and resident support.  Please come out on September 10 & 11 for the best local artisans have for your early holiday shopping.
