Newland chosen as president of Women's Council of Realtors

Keller Williams Realty Los Alamitos Operating Principal and owner Tammy Newland was recently installed as president of the Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR) for the state of California for 2013.

“I am honored to serve my profession and fellow realtors in this position and to be a representative for our 40 California chapters,” Newland said. “I will try to be a positive influence for my fellow business woman and my community.”

The Women’s Council of Realtors creates industry leaders that serve communities, local associations, state and national organizations.

Newland and her leadership team were installed by CAR President Don Faught, National Association of Realtors (NAR) President Gary Thomas, and National Association Women’s Council of Realtors Gail Hartnett, Anita Davis and Bobbie Nelson. Her installation, which was at the Portola Plaza Hotel in Monterey, was attended by 180 people as well as being sponsored such organizations as the Long Beach Women’s Council Chapter.

Newland has served as WCR Long Beach Chapter President, California State District Vice-President, Governor, State Secretary and President-Elect. She is a CAR Board Director and serves both at the National Association of Realtors and National Women’s Council of Realtors. She just received a two year appointment on the CAR defense strategy committee.

As a realtor for 23 years she has worked in West Orange County, Long Beach and South Bay areas. As a luxury real estate agent Newland has worked with many relocation clients.

Newland brings years of experience with market expertise, integrity, technology and a team of professionals who are well equipped to get homes and investments sold. She has sold over 140 million dollars of real estate in her career, representing investors, homebuyers, sellers and developers.

“Being an owner of a real estate office has fulfilled my dream of helping agents achieve higher success but I still love my clients and selling real estate, “said Newland. “That is why I am active as an agent, training and creating other leaders and working with my past clients and meeting new clients.”

“I really love what I do and take pride in building successful relationships with my clients,” she continued. “There is nothing like successfully meeting the challenge of working with interesting people, understanding their goals and helping them achieve their dreams.”

Newland is also active in her community as a sustaining member with the Junior League of Long Beach, The Assistance League of Long Beach (CAMEO) and alumni of Leadership Long Beach. She is a Board of Director of the Long Beach Rotary and is a member of Steel Magnolia’s. Newland has been recognized by many organizations for her volunteerism and leadership but she considers her greatest accomplishment is being a wife, mother and grandmother.

The WCR Long Beach Chapter is one of the largest chapters in California and is the fourth largest chapter in the nation. California is the largest WCR chapter in the nation with over 1745 members. As the highest ranking state officer, Newland directs 19 elected state officers and mentors local chapters. She is also featured at district business forums
