A local Eagle Scout, Kiran Trivedi, has initiated a blood drive with the American Red Cross to avoid a blood shortage.
“At this moment, the situation is critical – blood donations are dropping,” said Trivedi in a message he is distributing to urge donations. “If this continues,” he says, “we could face a potential blood shortage and patients could face delays in care. They need your help now.”
According to Trivedi, the pandemic crisis has lasted for more than a year.
But, he said, “thanks to generous blood donors like you, patients have still been able to undergo life-saving surgeries, survive chronic illnesses, and recover from traumatic accidents.”
The Eagle Scout is urging potential donors to reach out to the American Red Cross at 1-800- REDCROSS to schedule an appointment. “Help can’t wait,” he said.
