Dr. Sarah Renée Goldsberry graduated with honors from USC’s Keck School of Medicine on Saturday, May 18.
Dr. Goldsberry was one of two students who received honors based on the most outstanding record during her clinical years in all of her clerkships. She is also a lifetime member in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (AOA). Additionally, she received award recognition in three other areas.
Dr. Goldsberry received her first choice for residency at the University of Washington in Seattle beginning in June. There she will complete a six-year surgery program, emphasizing plastic surgery in the area of breast cancer reconstruction.
Dr. Goldsberry’s educational history began with Los Coyotes Elementary School in La Palma, continuing on to Walker Junior High School and Kennedy High School in the Anaheim Union High School District. Her undergraduate schooling was at Whittier College where she double majored and graduated summa cum laude. Although unable to get into medical school after graduation, Dr. Goldsberry continued her education at Columbia University in New York receiving a masters degree in nutrition. While at Columbia, she did breast cancer research, tutoring a class, and was published four times on completed research projects.
