Leaders from the Federal Academic Alliance and Columbia College have announced a transformational agreement between the two entities. The college is now one of the elite institutions from around the country that is part of the Federal Academic Alliance and will offer its 2.1 million employees, their spouses, and dependents under the age of 25 a 15 percent discounted tuition rate to help them reach their academic goals.
“Columbia College is proud to be part of the Federal Academic Alliance and support the organization’s efforts to provide quality, affordable educational opportunities to Federal employees,” said Dr. David Russell, the college’s interim president. “The college appreciates the opportunity to serve working adults and help them further their careers.”
The Federal Academic Alliance’s mission is to recruit, retain and honor a world-class workforce to serve the American people. Its Governmentwide talent development focus is to ensure Federal employees have access to high-quality talent development opportunities in the identified Governmentwide mission-critical occupations and leverage resources to increase impact.
Columbia College features 36 locations nationwide, including a Los Alamitos campus, offers six class sessions lasting eight weeks each, allowing students to complete their degree quickly. Students can earn an associate degree in 20 months, a bachelor’s degree in three-and-a-half years, and a master’s degree in just 12 months. The college is very transfer-friendly, which may allow a student to graduate even earlier if they have previously attended an accredited college or university.
Students who take classes online or at one of the college’s locations nationwide will also have access to the Truition(r) program, which offers a transparent look at the cost of college by eliminating all fees and providing books at no cost.
