RCSD appoints new director

Rossmoor Community Services District announced the appointment of Tony DeMarco as the newest director of the RCSD. President Michael Maynard administered the oath of office to DeMarco at their regular meeting on Aug. 13 when he was formally sworn in as a member of the board.

Earlier this year, Director Jeffrey Rips reluctantly resigned from the position to accept a promotion as executive director of the Alpert Jewish Community Center in Long Beach. Director DeMarco was unanimously selected after the recruitment and consideration of all qualified candidates.

“We are excited to have someone of Tony’s caliber on board. He is a successful businessman, family man, and has shown outstanding character. I am confident that he will add a valued perspective to our board, our district and our community. I look forward to rolling up our sleeves and working together,” said President Maynard.

Director DeMarco remarked, “I am excited to be a part of what I believe is already a shining example of responsible and effective local government. Making decisions that shape the Rossmoor community—my community—is an enormous responsibility. Rest assured, it is not a responsibility I take lightly. I will strive to be accessible to my constituents and to maintain the high standards of the district.”

Rossmoor Community Services District meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Rush Park auditorium at 3021 Blume Drive in Rossmoor. Televised versions of the meetings are available for viewing on local channel LATV-3 and via YouTube Channel CSMP-TV.
