Los Alamitos High School alumni Keely Powers and Zoe Martineau will be competing for the title of Miss Teen Los Angeles/Anaheim in the Miss Teen LA/Anaheim pageant that will take place on March 3. At first, they were given acceptance letters regarding their entry into the pageant. “I was really excited,” said Zoe about receiving her acceptance letter, “I was confident of my performance in the original interview. So, I wasn’t surprised, but I was very happy.” After a round of interviews conducted by this year’s LA/Anaheim pageant coordinator, they were officially entered into the competition.
These ladies will be competing in the Miss Teen division of the pageant. The competition will consist of modeling routines which include casual wear and formal wear. In addition, they will display their personality and interviewing skills in an interview conducted by this year’s LA/Anaheim judging panel. While Keely is mostly nervous about the formal wear aspect of the competition, Zoe is mostly nervous about the interview.
The winner of the Miss Teen LA/Anaheim pageant will be eligible to compete in the National Competition in Orlando, Florida, and will received an all-expense paid trip of five nights and six days to the national competition. Prizes and awards worth over $30,000 will be presented to the winners. “If I was crowned Miss LA/Anaheim, I would be very excited and happy,” said Keely about the possibility of winning. “I feel like I would have achieved something awesome,” said Zoe, “I would be so excited to go to the national pageant (in Florida) and maybe I could use this as experience to get into other pageants.”
